Meet Eudora
Oy!

I am Eudora, eu sou Eudora. I am from Brazil and I speak Portuguese. For more information on my life in Brazil, you should check out my blog. I am not entirely sure why you are reading this, or why my teacher has decided that I must write this.

I am in the United States because of my sister Gabriela. Gabriela is the next great soccer star, and was scouted in Brazil and granted a scholarship and visa to move to Central Florida to train. My father went with her as she was only 15! My mom and I came the year after, and my baby brother was born the year after that.

I also enjoy playing soccer, although I am not as good as Gabriela. In school, I do really well in PE, because it outside, which is the world’s first and most important classroom. Honestly, there is nothing we could learn in the school building that cannot be done outside. Science class is the easiest, for obvious reasons. You can learn about the environment, natural elements, animals, growth and decay, chemical reactions, and human interference with natural processes. Other subjects should be outside too. Math? Counting nature, weights, scales, fractions, understanding the unknown. Language arts? We can read outside. History, I guess could be read outside too, but it is mostly dates and names and is so boring. Even ESOL, which is my least favorite class, could be done outside. I don’t like my ESOL class because I have been in the same class for two years, which means I must not be good at it. Marta isn’t in ESOL any more, she is better at English than me. She is teaching me a little Spanish and I am teaching her Portuguese. She picks up on languages really quickly. My grades are ok, I guess, I am not perfect. No one is. Well Ji-Ho might be, but he doesn’t count. He skipped a few grades and I am stuck in ESOL, again. I don’t care about my grades anyway, they don’t matter. There are so many more important things that I care about, like global warming/climate change. Have you heard of Greta Thunberg? If not, you should. Start with her Insta or maybe read a newspaper. Seriously, you should know who she is she is kinda a big deal. She is leading school protests around the globe, because if the earth is being destroyed, there really isn’t a point in doing worksheets or writing in a workbook. My parents wouldn’t let me protest, but I fully support Greta. Wow, I have written more than the minimum, I guess its time to turn in the assignment.
